About Me

Welcome to my site. I am keeping this online journal as a tool to help me achieve my fitness goals. Note I do not use the word “diet” here. I have been on tons of diets and lost hundreds of pounds. I am not looking for a diet but a new way of living. I want to conquer my life long problem with my relationship with food. I am almost 41 years old. I am married to a wonderful, supportive man and have 2 great kids. It is with great irony that at the age of 35 I came to terms with my weight and my body image– only to realize that my body image and self-esteem wasn’t the problem anymore. Its my risk for diabetes ( my mom is athletic and slim is diabetic, as was my grandfather on my dad’s side), my risk for heart attack and heart disease. I had an operation to remove my gall bladder recently and have been suffering from sciatica for several years. It is only a matter of time before I start to suffer severe health problems. I am 5′8 and at the start of this blog I weighed a staggering 318 lbs- the most I have ever weighed in my entire life.

It is my hope the this site will inspire me and help lead me to to success- a lifestyle of fitness and lifelong health. I also hope that others can be helped and encouraged along the way.
